NAHREYN is a Non-Governmental, and Non-Political Organization; it is rather a local Somali humanitarian organization that has been working in Somalia particularly in Mogadishu and Agoi District of Lower Shabelle, Regions since it’s foundation in 2003.
Care for orphan children(NAHREYN) is a non-profit Organization free of commercial influence, which provides help and support for orphan childrenespecially those of war victims free of charge. Our purpose is to provide them with unbiased teachings to fit their personal needs and get busy lifestyle.
During the war in Somalia, main activities carried out by NAHREYN included distribution of both cooked and dry food to victims of famine.
NAHREYN organization has not only implemented food distribution activities but also has opened a school in Afgoa.
In 2003, NAHREYN has expanded the scope of its activities to include peace and human rights. The organization currently documents and records human rights abuses in Mogadishu and in some part of the country.
The organization participates and encourages peace-building issues through neighborhood system and through conducting peace awareness workshops with the participation of Women, Elders, Youth and Militia.
NAHREYN‘s Headquarter office is in Afgoi, the Lower Shabelle Region.
NAHREYN‘s Board of Directors consists of Seven (7) members (individuals), three women and four men. The board is the decision making arm of the organization charged with supervision, networking and other important roles. The Board sits once every two months and in the case of extraordinary meeting, it may be called by 2/3 of BOD members or the Chairperson of the organization.
NAHREYN has an operating team of 21 individuals. They are charged with the actual implementation of projects as well as the maintenance of the secretarial activities.
